Abbottstown is a small borough of about 940 people, and the typical home here dates to 1974. Houses built then often carry aluminum wiring on the branch circuits, 100-amp panels and two-prong outlets. Federal Pacific and Zinsco panels, both recalled, still turn up sometimes.
A recalled panel calls for a breaker panel upgrade, not a patch job, and we walk you through the options. Before you buy or sell an Abbottstown house from this era, an electrical safety inspection is worth scheduling first.

Abbottstown Borough issues electrical permits under Pennsylvania's Uniform Construction Code, typically through a third-party agency that reviews plans and inspects the finished work. We pull the permit, schedule the inspection and stay with the job until it passes.
Met-Ed delivers power to most of Abbottstown, with Adams Electric Cooperative serving other pockets of the county. A panel swap or new service means a scheduled disconnect and reconnect at the meter, and that call is ours to make. A downed line is the utility's repair. From the meter inward, any hour, is on us.
Our Pennsylvania and New Jersey experts are ready to resolve your electrical woes.

Lyle was fantastic to work with! He was very punctual, arriving right within the expected window the day of. While he was here he did good work, made sure to answer all questions during and after the job was completed, and cleaned up all traces of work being done like drywall dust and leftover bits of wire/wood scraps before leaving. 10/10, would entrust again.
