Berks County has three electric utilities, and knowing which one you're on saves time. Met-Ed, part of FirstEnergy, is the primary provider and serves Reading. PPL Electric Utilities covers other portions of the county. And Kutztown runs its own borough-owned electric system, so a service upgrade there follows the borough's rules, not Met-Ed's. Whichever it is, the utility owns the line and the meter, and we coordinate any upgrade, meter relocation or disconnect with them directly. From the meter inward, the panel, the wiring and every outlet are our responsibility.
The county is large and our coverage doesn't stop at its edge. We also serve the neighboring counties of Chester, Montgomery, Lehigh, Lancaster, Lebanon and Schuylkill. That means a Berks County call goes to an electrician who already works this ground and dispatches from home.
The work itself covers the full range: emergency troubleshooting at any hour, panel and breaker replacements, and new dedicated circuits. We also handle EV charger installs, generator transfer switches, lighting design, and ceiling fans. And we do the safety inspections buyers and sellers ask for. Berks has a 1969 median build year. A good portion of our work here brings sound but dated wiring up to what a modern household expects.
