Electrical Service Across Berks County

Berks County has three electric utilities, and knowing which one you're on saves time. Met-Ed, part of FirstEnergy, is the primary provider and serves Reading. PPL Electric Utilities covers other portions of the county. And Kutztown runs its own borough-owned electric system, so a service upgrade there follows the borough's rules, not Met-Ed's. Whichever it is, the utility owns the line and the meter, and we coordinate any upgrade, meter relocation or disconnect with them directly. From the meter inward, the panel, the wiring and every outlet are our responsibility.

The county is large and our coverage doesn't stop at its edge. We also serve the neighboring counties of Chester, Montgomery, Lehigh, Lancaster, Lebanon and Schuylkill. That means a Berks County call goes to an electrician who already works this ground and dispatches from home.

Electrical service

I was really impressed with Don and Engeli and the work they performed for me. We had a discussion on the best way to run the new line for the septic pump and I really appreciated the extra effort they made to keep the esthetic of my home's exterior. Is aluminum wiring in my 1960s house dangerous?

It's a known risk that can be managed. Aluminum connections loosen over time and can overheat at outlets and switches. The fix is not always a full rewire.
