The Thomas Edison difference
Looking for a Birdsboro electrician? Thomas Edison Electric works ZIP 19508 and the rest of Berks County every week. Monocacy Station is 1.8 miles off, Douglassville 4.1 and Geigertown 4.6.
Our electricians are direct employees who dispatch from their own homes across the area, not subcontractors working out of someone else's truck. Licensed under PA075449 and fully insured, we answer the phone 24/7, 365 days a year, with a written quote before work starts. Call 610-777-7600 any time.
Aluminum wiring and recalled Federal Pacific or Zinsco panels are common here.
No subcontractors, ever. Our vans stock up at home before the first call.
We confirm who bills you and file the right paperwork for a service upgrade.
The price is on paper first, panel job or small repair.
Miss the arrival window we gave you and the dispatch fee comes off.

Transparent pricing means written quotes with no surprises.
Birdsboro's homes date to about 1965 on average, which lines up with a familiar list: aluminum branch wiring, 100 amp panels, two-prong outlets, and the occasional recalled Federal Pacific or Zinsco panel. None of that is rare for a borough this size and age.
We also handle the routine calls, a breaker that won't hold, a dead outlet, a ceiling fan that needs mounting. Every job starts with a written price, whether it's a five-minute fix or a full panel swap.
The panel usually comes first. A 1965 Birdsboro home often still runs on 100 amps, and if the panel reads Federal Pacific or Zinsco, a 200-amp upgrade retires it and adds room to grow.
Aluminum branch wiring is the second issue we see often. Loose connections show up as warm cover plates or flickering lights, and we remake those joints with properly rated connectors.
Beyond that, EV chargers on a dedicated circuit and standby generators with a transfer switch are common additions to a 1965-era home.
Birdsboro Borough issues electrical permits under Pennsylvania's Uniform Construction Code. Like most boroughs its size, it contracts plan review and inspections to a third-party agency instead of running its own building department. We handle the filing, book the inspection and are on site when the inspector arrives.
Met-Ed bills some Birdsboro addresses, PPL Electric Utilities bills others. We confirm which one before requesting a disconnect for a panel or service change, then arrange the reconnect. A storm that knocks out their lines is on them to fix. A problem at your breaker box is on us, any hour.
Our Pennsylvania and New Jersey experts are ready to resolve your electrical woes.

Absolutely thrilled with our electrician Dennis! He was very knowledgeable and polite. Made this process very easy and stress free. We had two light fixtures put in along with an exhaust fan, cleaned up after and everything. Highly recommend this company and their electrician!

Birdsboro Electrical FAQs
Yes, 24/7, 365 days a year, holidays included. Our electricians live in the area and dispatch from home. Call 610-777-7600 whenever the trouble starts.
Have it looked at. Federal Pacific and Zinsco panels were both recalled and can fail to trip when they should. We inspect it and give you a written quote for a replacement panel, often the same visit.
Yes, and PPL Electric Utilities too, depending on your address. A panel upgrade needs a disconnect and reconnect at the meter, and we schedule both ends.
Usually, once we check the panel. A 100 amp panel from 1965 often lacks room for a Level 2 charger's circuit. If it's full or recalled, we upgrade to 200 amps and coordinate with your utility.
Use our online scheduler or call us anytime, 24/7
