The Thomas Edison difference
Strausstown electricians from Thomas Edison Electric are direct employees, not subcontractors, dispatching from their own homes in fully stocked TEE vans. Strausstown, ZIP 19559, sits in Berks County among Rehrersburg, Shartlesville and Bernville, all served by the same crew.
Our company is family-owned, award-winning and licensed under PA075449, fully insured. We've completed over 37,000 jobs since 2021 and answer 24/7, 365 days a year, holidays included. Call 610-777-7600. Every job comes with a written quote, and a late arrival means the dispatch fee is waived.
Fuse boxes, knob-and-tube remnants and 60-amp service don't slow us down.
No subcontractors, dispatching from home in a fully stocked TEE van.
The number you approve is the number you pay.
We eat the cost if we miss your window, not you.

Transparent pricing means written quotes with no surprises.
Strausstown's typical home dates to 1938, old enough for knob-and-tube remnants, fuse boxes and 60-amp service to still turn up regularly. Ungrounded outlets are common in the mix too, especially in additions built later.
A fuse box swap for a modern breaker panel is one of the most frequent calls we get out here, along with retiring old knob-and-tube runs and adding grounding where it's missing. We also handle dedicated circuits for a workshop or garage. Rehrersburg and Bethel share the same era of housing, and the same crew covers both.
Strausstown has no incorporated government of its own, so the township issues electrical permits under Pennsylvania's Uniform Construction Code. As with most of Berks County, that usually means a third-party agency reviews the plans and inspects the finished work rather than a township building department. We file the permit, set the inspection date and meet the inspector on site.
Met-Ed, also billed as Penelec in parts of the county, is the primary utility around Strausstown, with PPL Electric Utilities covering other areas. A panel upgrade needs their disconnect and reconnect at the meter, which we book. Storm damage to the line is the utility's repair; the meter inward is ours, any hour.
Our Pennsylvania and New Jersey experts are ready to resolve your electrical woes.

We have an older Casablanca fan, it stopped functioning properly. Thomas Edison sent an electric technician out in two days. Nassim found the problem in the wall switch. I was given the opportunity to find a replacment switch . Once I secured the switch they were out in a few days. Installation was completed within an hour. Will use Thomas Edison again .

Our technician Dennis did an amazing job installing a new circuit panel and new outlets for us. We are so grateful and so happy to be able to plug multiple things in without tripping the breaker. Our lights also look so much brighter. Thank you so much! Very professional, very knowledgeable and estimates are fairly priced compared to the others around the area. Very happy overall. Highly recommend.

Personable knowledgeable friendly. Mike V made sure I was educated and up to par on what I needed and more importantly what I did not need as another company was trying to sell me things I did not need . Very happy with the results.
