Award-winning company
The Thomas Edison difference
Shartlesville electricians from Thomas Edison Electric are direct employees, not subcontractors, and every one dispatches from home in a fully stocked TEE van. Shartlesville, ZIP 19554, sits in Berks County close to Strausstown and Centerport, with Bernville and Hamburg a bit further out.
Our company is family-owned and award-winning, licensed under PA075449 and fully insured. We've completed over 37,000 jobs since 2021 and answer 24/7, 365 days a year. Call 610-777-7600. Every job starts with a written quote, and a late arrival means we waive the dispatch fee.
Fuse boxes, 60-amp service and knob-and-tube remnants are routine calls, not a mystery, for us.
No subcontractors, ever, dispatching from home in a stocked TEE van.
The number you approve is the number you pay.
We waive the dispatch fee if we miss your window.
A licensed electrician answers, day or night, any day of the year.
Licensed under PA075449, insured, with financing available on request.
We're dedicated to building lasting relationships with every client through exceptional service and guaranteed results.

Transparent pricing means written quotes with no surprises.
Shartlesville's typical home dates to 1956, an era when knob-and-tube remnants, fuse boxes and 60-amp service were still common, and plenty of that original wiring is still in the walls. Ungrounded outlets tend to show up alongside it.
A fuse box or an old 60-amp panel gets replaced with a modern breaker panel sized for how the house is actually used today, phones, kitchens and all. We also add grounding and GFCI protection, and can wire in a ceiling fan or two while we're already there. Bernville and Strausstown see the same housing stock, and the same crew covers all three.
Shartlesville doesn't have its own borough government, so electrical permits go through the township under Pennsylvania's Uniform Construction Code, and the township typically hires a third-party agency for plan review and inspections. We handle that filing, book the inspection date and meet the inspector when the work is done.
Met-Ed, also billed as Penelec in parts of the county, is the primary electric utility here, with PPL Electric Utilities serving other areas. A panel upgrade needs their disconnect and reconnect at the meter, which we schedule. Storm damage to the line is theirs to fix; the meter inward is ours, day or night.
Our Pennsylvania and New Jersey experts are ready to resolve your electrical woes.

Absolutely thrilled with our electrician Dennis! He was very knowledgeable and polite. Made this process very easy and stress free. We had two light fixtures put in along with an exhaust fan, cleaned up after and everything. Highly recommend this company and their electrician!

Jimmy made the service call easy. After describing our issue, 2 min max, he already knew what was wrong. He quickly identified, found, and fixed the offending GFI. After years of using Thomas Edison Electric we always refer them to friends and family.

Had a great experience with Michael Van for my initial inspection/walk-through and Steve P and the crew with the install. All of them, including the employees on the phone, were polite and prompt, and I'm very satisfied with my new electrical panel and wiring.
