The Thomas Edison difference
Need a Kempton electrician? Thomas Edison Electric's crews cover Berks County, including this small ZIP 19529 community of roughly 148 people. Lenhartsville sits 4.1 miles away, with Virginville, Hamburg and Kutztown further out.
We're a family-owned, award-winning company, licensed under PA075449 and fully insured. Electricians here dispatch from home in fully stocked TEE vans, never as subcontractors. Call 610-782-9000 any hour, with a written quote before work starts.
Kempton calls go to a direct employee driving a fully stocked TEE van from home.
Knob-and-tube remnants, fuse boxes and 60-amp services are familiar work for us here.
We schedule service upgrades and meter work with the utility that feeds Kempton.
No surprise pricing, ever, on a repair or a full upgrade.
Nights, weekends and holidays included, with the dispatch fee waived if we're late.

Transparent pricing means written quotes with no surprises.
Kempton's median home dates to 1938, some of the oldest housing stock in this part of the county. Knob-and-tube remnants, fuse boxes, 60-amp services and ungrounded outlets are all still common at that age, even where a home has been updated in other ways. A panel upgrade resolves most of it, and we flag anything that reads as an outdated code violation along the way.
Met-Ed, part of FirstEnergy, is the electric utility here, with PPL Electric Utilities covering other areas of Berks County. Met-Ed owns the poles and the meter, and any service upgrade or meter change gets scheduled through them while we handle everything behind it.
Every electrical permit in Kempton has to satisfy Pennsylvania's Uniform Construction Code, same as anywhere in the state, and the township contracts a third-party agency to do the actual plan review and inspection. That part is on us: we file, we schedule, and we're there when the inspector shows up.
Met-Ed supplies power to Kempton, alongside PPL Electric Utilities elsewhere in the county. Replacing an old fuse box with a modern breaker panel usually means a new service size, which requires a scheduled disconnect and reconnect with Met-Ed. We coordinate that timing. Outages on the line are Met-Ed's repair, while the fuse box, wiring and outlets inside stay ours.
Our Pennsylvania and New Jersey experts are ready to resolve your electrical woes.

Absolutely thrilled with our electrician Dennis! He was very knowledgeable and polite. Made this process very easy and stress free. We had two light fixtures put in along with an exhaust fan, cleaned up after and everything. Highly recommend this company and their electrician!

Had a great experience with Michael Van for my initial inspection/walk-through and Steve P and the crew with the install. All of them, including the employees on the phone, were polite and prompt, and I'm very satisfied with my new electrical panel and wiring.
