Chester County houses mostly have copper wiring, and the trouble starts when a 100 or 150-amp panel meets a heat pump, a hot tub and an EV charger in the same year. So we begin every one of those jobs with a load calculation. It adds up what the house draws now and what the new equipment needs. If the panel has room, we run the dedicated circuit and that is the whole job.
If it does not, the honest answer is a 200-amp panel upgrade first, and we quote both together so there is no second surprise. A Level 2 EV charger then gets its own breaker, sized to the car and the cable run.

Chester Springs is not a borough, so the township issues electrical permits under Pennsylvania's Uniform Construction Code.
