Two-prong outlets are the giveaway in a 1976 Dublin house. No ground means surge protectors cannot do their job and three-prong plugs need an adapter. Behind the walls the picture matches: aluminum branch wiring on some circuits, a 100-amp panel, and sometimes a recalled Federal Pacific or Zinsco panel. We have an older Casablanca fan, it stopped functioning properly. Thomas Edison sent an electric technician out in two days. Nassim found the problem in the wall switch.
