Gouldsboro's typical home dates to 1963, and the wiring from that era tells its own story. Aluminum branch wiring, 100 amp panels, two-prong outlets and recalled Federal Pacific or Zinsco panels all turn up often behind the walls. None of that is rare for a house this age, and none of it is a reason to worry once someone has actually looked at it.
Our electricians dispatch from home across the region, covering South Sterling, Sterling and Newfoundland on the same routes. Call 610-782-9000 any hour.
Gouldsboro sits in a township that issues electrical permits under Pennsylvania's Uniform Construction Code, like the rest of Wayne County. Most townships here work with a third-party inspection agency rather than running their own building department. We pull the permit, book the inspection and walk the inspector through the finished job.
PPL Electric Utilities serves Gouldsboro, with Penelec covering other parts of the county. A panel upgrade to replace a recalled Federal Pacific or Zinsco unit means a disconnect and reconnect at the meter, and we schedule both. Storm damage to the lines outside is the utility's job. Everything from the meter inward, including that aging aluminum wiring, is ours.
Our Pennsylvania and New Jersey experts are ready to resolve your electrical woes.

Mike from Thomas Edison Electric replaced our out-of-service-life whole-house surge protectors and repaired a lighting fixture for our deck. He did an excellent professional job. He didn't try to sell us things we didn't need. I highly recommend Mike.
