Lightstreet's typical home dates to 1975, right in the aluminum wiring era. Branch circuit connections from those years loosen with age, and 100-amp panels with two-prong outlets are the norm rather than the exception. A flickering light or a warm switch plate is usually the first sign.
PPL Electric Utilities serves all of Lightstreet, so there is only one company to coordinate with for a service upgrade. We handle the load calculation and the paperwork, plus the work itself, whether that is a 200-amp panel or a new EV charger circuit.
Lightstreet's permits run through Pennsylvania's Uniform Construction Code. A third-party agency, not a township building department, handles the plan review and inspection, standard practice across most of Columbia County.
