The 100-amp panel is the common thread in our Point Pleasant calls. Across Bucks County, 100-amp panels, aluminum branch wiring and two-prong outlets turn up often. A panel of that size was fine for the house it came with. Add central air, a workshop and a Level 2 EV charger, and it runs out of room.
A service upgrade to 200 amps fixes that. We replace the panel and the service cable. We add a proper ground and bring the meter base up to code. PECO pulls the meter for the day and resets it after the inspection. An EV charger or a dedicated circuit for the workshop goes in at the same time.
A service upgrade in Point Pleasant needs two things: a township permit and a PECO shutoff. The township issues the permit under the Pennsylvania Uniform Construction Code, usually through a third-party inspection agency. We file it and meet the inspector.
On the utility side, PECO Energy Company pulls the meter and reconnects once the inspector signs off. We book both, so the outage stays as short as we can make it. Storm damage to the lines is PECO's job. Everything from the meter into the house is ours, any hour. Call 215-227-7000.
