Electrical Service Around Broomall

Across Delaware County, homes from Broomall's era often still carry knob-and-tube remnants, fuse boxes, 60-amp services and outlets with no ground, and Broomall fits that pattern more often than newer suburbs nearby.

Our electricians are direct employees, not subcontractors, and they dispatch from home instead of a distant yard. That keeps a crew working Broomall, Havertown and Newtown Square on a normal week, not as a special trip. Call 610-789-8100 any hour.

PECO Energy Company is the utility for every Broomall address. PECO restores power on the street; anything from the meter in is ours. In September 2021, remnants of Hurricane Ida flooded basements and knocked out power across Delaware County, and a panel that took on water then is worth a second look now.

Common Electrical Projects in Broomall Homes

A lot of Broomall's electrical work traces back to age. Homes from this era across Delaware County often kept their original 60-amp fuse box far longer than the wiring behind it should have allowed. We replace that box with a breaker panel upgrade sized to modern loads, usually 100 or 200 amps.

Knob-and-tube remnants and ungrounded two-prong outlets are the next find. We ground what can be grounded and add GFCI protection in kitchens, baths and basements where it is missing.

Once the basics are current, dedicated circuits for a workshop or range and dryer outlets for a kitchen remodel are common add-ons, all quoted in writing first.

Permits, Inspections and Your Utility in Broomall

Broomall has no borough hall of its own; the township handles electrical permits under Pennsylvania's Uniform Construction Code, usually through a third-party inspection agency rather than an in-house building department. We pull the permit, meet the inspector and put both in your written quote.

PECO Energy Company serves Broomall and the surrounding townships. A panel upgrade or new meter socket needs a disconnect and reconnect at the meter, which we schedule with PECO directly. Line and pole outages are PECO's; everything past the meter is ours, any hour you call.

Electrical service

I was really impressed with Don and Engeli and the work they performed for me. We had a discussion on the best way to run the new line for the septic pump and I really appreciated the extra effort they made to keep the esthetic of my home's exterior. They were pleasant and professional and all my fans and lights work great! They were patient and waited until I approved everything. A great team!

Broomall Electrical FAQs

Is a Broomall electrician available for emergencies at night?

Yes. We answer 24/7, 365 days a year, holidays included. Our electricians live in the area and dispatch from home, not a distant yard, and they arrive in fully stocked TEE vans ready to fix the problem that visit. Call 610-789-8100 whenever it comes up.

My Broomall house still has a fuse box. Should I worry?

Not necessarily, but it is worth a look. A lot of homes from this era across Delaware County kept a 60-amp fuse box well past its useful life. We will check the box, the wiring behind it and what you plan to add, then give you options in writing.

Do you handle knob-and-tube wiring in Broomall?

Yes, regularly. Knob-and-tube remnants and two-prong outlets without a ground are common finds in homes this age. We ground what can be grounded, add GFCI protection where a ground is not possible, and replace anything that has become a real hazard.

Who is responsible for an outage in Broomall, PECO or you?

PECO owns the poles and lines, so a neighborhood-wide outage is PECO's repair. If just your house lost power, the cause is usually inside the panel or wiring, and that is our territory. Call us either way and we will help you sort out which one it is.
