It depends on the math. If your 150-amp service has capacity to spare and you only need slots, a subpanel is the smaller job. If a heat pump and an EV charger are both coming, the service itself needs to grow. We run the numbers on the first visit and price both options in writing.
Yes. We are a certified Generac dealer, and we sell, install and service them. Sizing comes first: enough for the sump pump, refrigerator, heat and a few lights, or the whole house. The transfer switch, the permit through Buckingham Township and the PECO coordination all come with the job. Financing is available.
A hot tub pulls a lot of current for a long time. If it shares a circuit, or if someone sized the breaker for an older pump, it will trip. The fix is a dedicated circuit with the right wire gauge, breaker and GFCI protection.
For a 1993 house full of electronics, heat pump controls and a charger, yes. A surge device at the panel clamps the spike before it reaches the house. It is a small job on a panel with room, and part of the plan on a panel upgrade.
