The Thomas Edison difference
Christiana electricians see a lot of older housing stock, and Thomas Edison Electric's crews know exactly what to look for. We serve ZIP 17509 in Lancaster County, a few miles from Gap, Kinzers and Bart.
Licensed under PA075449 and fully insured, we're a family-owned company with over 37,000 jobs completed since 2021. Reach us at 610-777-7600 any hour, any day of the year. Every job starts with a written quote, and a late arrival means we waive the dispatch fee.
Fuse boxes, 60-amp services and knob-and-tube remnants are common, and all of it is work we handle daily.
We add real grounding or GFCI protection wherever an old two-prong outlet is still doing the job.
A fuse box becomes a modern breaker panel, sized for what the house actually needs now.
Meter changes and new service both start with a call to PPL, which we place for you.
No verbal estimates, no surprise line items, ever.
PA075449, over 37,000 jobs completed since 2021, 4.8 stars on Google.
We're dedicated to building lasting relationships with every client through exceptional service and guaranteed results.

Transparent pricing means written quotes with no surprises.
Christiana's housing stock runs older than much of the county, with a typical home dating to 1941. Knob-and-tube remnants, fuse boxes, 60-amp services and ungrounded outlets are still common finds behind the walls.
None of that is unusual for a house this age, and none of it has to stay that way. We upgrade fuse boxes to breaker panels, replace remnants of knob-and-tube wiring, and add grounded, GFCI-protected outlets throughout. A full safety inspection gives you a written list of what your particular house still needs.
Christiana Borough issues electrical permits under Pennsylvania's Uniform Construction Code. As in most boroughs in the county, a third-party agency handles plan review and inspections rather than the borough itself. We take care of pulling the permit and scheduling the inspector, and the cost sits inside your written quote.
PPL Electric Utilities serves Christiana. Any service upgrade or meter change needs a disconnect and reconnect at the meter, which we book with PPL directly. If a whole block loses power, that's a PPL repair. If it's just your house, call us, any hour.
Our Pennsylvania and New Jersey experts are ready to resolve your electrical woes.

Mike from Thomas Edison Electric replaced our out-of-service-life whole-house surge protectors and repaired a lighting fixture for our deck. He did an excellent professional job. He didn't try to sell us things we didn't need. I highly recommend Mike.
