The typical Fairless Hills house dates to 1959, and the wiring often shows it. Fuse boxes, 60-amp services, ungrounded outlets and leftover knob-and-tube still hide behind the walls. Today the same house wants central air, a dryer, a home office and maybe an EV charger. That gap is where most of our calls here begin.
Our electricians are employees of Thomas Edison Electric, not subcontractors. They dispatch from their own homes across the area. The van that pulls up in Fairless Hills is the same one you would see in Levittown, Bristol or Bensalem.
PECO Energy Company delivers the power. When a storm takes the lines down, PECO restores them. Everything from the meter into your house is our side. The remnants of Hurricane Ida flooded parts of Bucks County in September 2021. Power went out across the county, and a tornado touched down that same night. Basements that took water then may still hold corroded breakers. Call 215-227-7000 and we will check them.
Panel work leads the list. A fuse box to breaker panel upgrade takes a 60-amp service to 200 amps. Every circuit gets its own breaker. We pull the permit and handle the PECO side.
Outlets come next. Two-prong outlets in a 1959 house have no ground. We either add one or protect the outlet with a GFCI. Kitchens and laundry rooms also tend to need new range, dryer and AC outlets on circuits of their own.
Then the new loads. A Level 2 EV charger needs its own circuit and real panel capacity, which a 60-amp service simply lacks. Whole-home surge protection and a standby generator round out the list for anyone who remembers the September 2021 outages.
Fairless Hills is not its own borough. Permits for electrical work go through the township under the Pennsylvania Uniform Construction Code. Most Bucks County municipalities use a third-party inspection agency for plan review and inspections. We file the application, schedule the inspection and meet the inspector at your door.
PECO Energy Company is the electric utility in ZIP 19030. A service upgrade, meter relocation or panel replacement needs PECO to disconnect and reconnect at the meter. We book that appointment for you. Outages on the street are PECO's repair. Trouble between the meter and your outlets is ours, any hour of the year.

Fairless Hills Electrical FAQs
Not always today, but usually soon. A fuse box in good shape is not illegal on its own. The trouble is capacity. A 60-amp fuse service cannot carry central air, a dryer and an EV charger at once. It also has no room for new circuits. We check yours and give you a written price for a breaker panel.
Almost never. Central air alone takes a big share of a 60-amp service. A Level 2 charger wants a heavy circuit of its own. The usual path is a 200-amp service upgrade first, then the charger. We coordinate the meter work with PECO and put both prices in one written quote.
They have no ground, and that matters more now than it did in 1959. We can add a ground where the wiring allows. Otherwise we install a GFCI outlet that trips before a fault can hurt anyone. Our electrical safety inspection maps every ungrounded outlet in the house.
