Electrical Service in and Around Fayetteville

The typical Fayetteville home dates to 1962, the aluminum-wiring era. A 100-amp panel, two-prong outlets, or a recalled Federal Pacific or Zinsco panel are all familiar territory for us here.

Chambersburg Borough Electric Department serves power here, even though Fayetteville sits outside the borough line. Met-Ed, the rural co-ops, or Mont Alto's own system may apply instead, depending on your exact address. We confirm the right one before scheduling any meter work. Call 215-227-7000 any time, day or night.

The same crews reach Scotland, Mont Alto and South Mountain, plus Quincy and Marion further out. One visit, one written price, no matter the town.

Common Electrical Projects in Fayetteville Homes

Fayetteville homes from 1962 usually carry a 100-amp panel, sometimes less by now. We upgrade to 200 amps and handle any breaker trouble the old panel was covering up.

A Federal Pacific or Zinsco label means replacement, not repair. Both brands carry a recall history we don't work around. Aluminum branch wiring gets fixed the same way, new connectors at every joint or new copper where that makes more sense.

After that, most calls turn to upgrades: a home EV charger on its own circuit, or custom lighting for a remodeled kitchen. Both start with a written price.

Permits, Inspections and Your Utility in Fayetteville

Permits for Fayetteville electrical work go through the township under Pennsylvania's Uniform Construction Code. Most townships here use a third-party inspection agency rather than running their own department, and the process can look different two roads over. We pull the permit, schedule the inspector and include the fee in your written quote.

Chambersburg Borough Electric Department serves power to this part of Franklin County, though Met-Ed, a rural co-op, or Mont Alto's system may apply depending on your address. A service upgrade or new meter needs that utility's sign-off, and we arrange it. If your neighbors are dark too, that's a utility outage. If it's just your house, call us.

Electrical service

I was really impressed with Don and Engeli and the work they performed for me. We had a discussion on the best way to run the new line for the septic pump and I really appreciated the extra effort they made to keep the esthetic of my home's exterior. They were pleasant and professional and all my fans and lights work great! They were patient and waited until I approved everything. A great team!

Fayetteville Electrical FAQs

Who is the electric utility in Fayetteville?

It depends on your exact address. Chambersburg Borough Electric Department reaches into this area, but Met-Ed, Adams Electric Cooperative, Valley Rural Electric Cooperative or Mont Alto's system can apply too. We look up your utility before scheduling a service upgrade, so there's no guessing on our end or yours.

My Fayetteville home was built in the 1960s. What should I check first?

Start with the panel label. Federal Pacific and Zinsco panels, both recalled, need replacing rather than repairing. After that, check for aluminum branch wiring and two-prong outlets, both common from 1962. A safety inspection covers all three and gives you a written list of what to fix.

Are your Fayetteville electricians actual employees?

Yes, every one of them. We don't use subcontractors. Each electrician works directly for Thomas Edison Electric, lives in the area and keeps a fully stocked van at home. That setup is why most jobs finish in a single visit.

Do you answer emergency calls in Fayetteville at night?

Yes, any hour. Our line runs 24/7, 365 days a year, holidays included. Call 215-227-7000 for sparking, a burning smell, or a breaker that won't reset. For anything that can wait, we'll book a regular visit instead.
