Clinton County runs on three electric providers: PPL Electric Utilities for most of the city, with United Electric Cooperative and Tri-County Rural Electric Cooperative serving the more rural stretches around it. A service upgrade or new panel means coordinating with whichever one bills you, and we handle that whichever it is.
Start with the panel. A 1958 Lock Haven house often still runs on 60 or 100-amp service, sometimes behind a fuse box instead of breakers. A 200-amp panel upgrade usually solves more than one problem at once.
Next, the wiring. Knob-and-tube remnants hiding behind plaster walls are common at this build year, and warm cover plates or flickering lights are the usual warning sign. We trace and replace what needs it, and ground or GFCI-protect any two-prong outlet left behind.
Then come the additions a 1958 house never planned for. A Level 2 EV charger gets its own circuit. A standby generator with an automatic transfer switch covers the next long outage, and as a certified Generac dealer we install and service those too.
Lock Haven issues electrical permits under Pennsylvania's Uniform Construction Code, and like most of Clinton County, it works with a third-party inspection agency rather than running its own building department. We file the permit under our license, schedule the inspection around your calendar, and stand with the inspector when they arrive.
PPL Electric Utilities serves most of the city, while United Electric Cooperative and Tri-County Rural Electric Cooperative cover much of the surrounding township land. A service upgrade or meter move goes through whichever one bills you, and we confirm that before we start. Their equipment stops at the meter. Everything from there in, at any hour, is ours.
