Manheim's 5,027 residents live mostly in houses built around 1954. That vintage often still has knob-and-tube remnants, a fuse box instead of breakers, 60-amp service and outlets with no ground pin, none of it rare for us to open up and correct.

Knob-and-tube wiring is the headline concern in a 1954 Manheim home. It isn't automatically dangerous, but it wasn't built for today's loads, and insurance carriers increasingly ask that it be replaced. We trace it room by room and swap in modern copper.
