Award-winning company
The Thomas Edison difference
Looking for a Nicholson electrician? Thomas Edison Electric's crews live around Wyoming County and dispatch from their own homes in fully stocked TEE vans instead of a distant yard. Nicholson, ZIP 18446, is a small borough of about 696 people, with Factoryville 4.4 miles from here and the county seat, Tunkhannock, 10.5 miles from Nicholson.
We are a family-owned, multigenerational, award-winning company, licensed in Pennsylvania under PA075449 and insured. Every electrician passes a background check and trains weekly on current code. We answer 24/7, 365 days a year, holidays included, with a written quote before work starts, and if we run late, we waive the dispatch fee.
Our crews live around Wyoming County and leave from home in fully stocked TEE vans.
Knob-and-tube remnants, fuse boxes and 60-amp service are routine work for us here.
A job that touches the meter means we schedule the disconnect and reconnect with PPL.
The price is on paper first, one outlet or a full panel.
Nights, weekends and holidays. A breaker that trips at midnight still gets a licensed electrician.
PA license PA075449, over 37,000 jobs completed since 2021, financing if you ask.
We're dedicated to building lasting relationships with every client through exceptional service and guaranteed results.

The typical Nicholson home dates to 1938. Homes from that era often still have knob-and-tube remnants, a fuse box instead of breakers, 60-amp service and ungrounded outlets. We upgrade old fuse panels to modern breaker service and add grounded or GFCI protection where outlets need it.
PPL Electric Utilities is the primary utility here, though UGI Electric and Claverack Rural Electric Cooperative also serve parts of Wyoming County. A panel upgrade means coordinating the disconnect and reconnect with whichever one serves your address, and we make that call. Storm damage to the lines is the utility's repair. From the meter into your house, the work is ours.
Our electricians dispatch from their own homes across the county, and the same crews reach Factoryville and Tunkhannock. Call 215-227-7000 any hour, or ask about a safety inspection or a standby generator for the next outage.
Nicholson Borough issues electrical permits under Pennsylvania's Uniform Construction Code, typically through a third-party inspection agency rather than its own building department. We pull the permit, schedule the inspection and meet the inspector on site, all inside the written quote you approve first.
PPL Electric Utilities serves the Nicholson area, alongside UGI Electric and Claverack Rural Electric Cooperative elsewhere in the county. A service upgrade or meter change needs a disconnect and reconnect through PPL. Line damage after a storm is PPL's repair, and everything from the meter into your house is ours.
Our Pennsylvania and New Jersey experts are ready to resolve your electrical woes.

Mike from Thomas Edison Electric replaced our out-of-service-life whole-house surge protectors and repaired a lighting fixture for our deck. He did an excellent professional job. He didn't try to sell us things we didn't need. I highly recommend Mike.
