If it hasn't been inspected since, yes. The September 2021 flooding put electrical equipment in some Chester County basements underwater, and corrosion can cause failures well after everything looks dry. We test and document what's safe.
Sometimes, but it's worth checking. A 100-amp panel from 1986 can be tight once everything else is added up. If there's not much headroom, a 200-amp upgrade is the answer, and we coordinate the meter side with PECO.
Check outside first. If the whole street is dark, that's a PECO outage, restored on their schedule. If it's just your house, the issue is likely past the meter, which falls to us to fix.
