The Thomas Edison difference
Saylorsburg electricians see a lot of the same issue: houses built in the late 1960s that were never rewired. Saylorsburg, ZIP 18353 and home to about 804 people, sits in Monroe County near Sciota, 2.4 miles away, and Brodheadsville, 4.2.
We keep every electrician on payroll, not on contract. Each one leaves from home in a van stocked before the day starts. We hold PA license PA075449, carry full insurance, and have completed over 37,000 jobs since 2021. Call 610-782-9000 any hour, any day, and get a written quote before any work begins.
Aluminum branch wiring, 100-amp panels and recalled Federal Pacific or Zinsco panels are familiar work here.
We add a real ground or GFCI protection so an old outlet stops being a hazard.
Our electricians are on payroll, not subcontracted, and drive stocked vans from home.
You see the number before any work begins.

The typical Saylorsburg home dates to the late 1960s, meaning aluminum branch wiring, a 100-amp panel and two-prong outlets with no ground. Recalled Federal Pacific or Zinsco panels turn up often too.
We remake loose aluminum connections with rated connectors, or rewire where that makes more sense. Grounding a two-prong outlet or adding GFCI protection is routine. A 200-amp panel upgrade solves the recalled-panel problem and adds room for a heat pump or EV charger at the same time.
Winter storms and downed trees also cause their share of extended outages here, which is why generators come up often in local conversations.

Saylorsburg's township handles electrical permits under Pennsylvania's Uniform Construction Code, relying on a third-party inspection agency rather than its own building department, typical across Monroe County. We file the permit, schedule the inspection and are there when the inspector shows up.
PPL Electric Utilities serves the area, with Met-Ed also present elsewhere in Monroe County. A panel upgrade or new service means a disconnect and reconnect at the meter, which we schedule for you. Storm damage to the lines is the utility's repair. Everything from the meter into the house, aluminum wiring included, is ours.
Our Pennsylvania and New Jersey experts are ready to resolve your electrical woes.

I was extremely pleased with meeting Dennis T and with the work he completed today. He has a lovely personality, a level of professionalism that I appreciated and I was comfortable with him in my home, even into the evening to complete the work. I'm glad to have found Thomas Edison Electric and I would use the service again. Thank you Dennis for making this visit less painful.

Hector was amazing! Friendly, informative, fast, and respectful. Would absolutely recommend him to anyone looking for an electrician. He installed new outlets, dimmer switch’s and a fan. All projects were completed perfectly. Hector was also friendly and laid back and was kind enough to answer all of my questions.

We have an older Casablanca fan, it stopped functioning properly. Thomas Edison sent an electric technician out in two days. Nassim found the problem in the wall switch. I was given the opportunity to find a replacment switch . Once I secured the switch they were out in a few days. Installation was completed within an hour. Will use Thomas Edison again .

Our technician Dennis did an amazing job installing a new circuit panel and new outlets for us. We are so grateful and so happy to be able to plug multiple things in without tripping the breaker. Our lights also look so much brighter. Thank you so much! Very professional, very knowledgeable and estimates are fairly priced compared to the others around the area. Very happy overall. Highly recommend.
