Washingtonville's typical home dates to the late 1930s, which is old enough that fuse boxes, knob-and-tube remnants, 60-amp services and outlets with no ground are still common finds. None of it is unusual for a house this age, and all of it is worth a look before it becomes a bigger problem.
We remake old wiring safely, replace fuse boxes with modern breaker panels, and add grounding or GFCI protection where two-prong outlets are still in service. A 200-amp panel upgrade is common here once a heat pump or EV charger enters the picture, since a 60-amp service has no room for either.
Washingtonville Borough issues electrical permits under Pennsylvania's Uniform Construction Code, and like the rest of Montour County it relies on a third-party inspection agency rather than its own building department. We file the permit, schedule the inspection and are there when the inspector arrives, all part of your written quote.
PPL Electric Utilities is the only utility serving Montour County, including Washingtonville. A panel upgrade or new meter base means a scheduled disconnect and reconnect, which we set up directly with PPL. A wider outage on the lines is PPL's repair.
