Hainesport's homes date to a median year of 2000, newer than most towns nearby, and the wiring itself is rarely the issue. The work here is about capacity: adding an EV charger, a standby generator or whole-home surge protection to a panel sized for 2000, not for what a household runs today.
As a certified Generac dealer, we sell, install and service standby generators with automatic transfer switches, a popular request given the county's storm exposure.
A Hainesport home built around 2000 rarely has a safety problem behind the walls. What it usually needs is more capacity. A Level 2 EV charger draws more than a standard outlet, so most installs start with checking the panel before running the dedicated circuit.

Usually just a panel check, not a full rewiring inspection. Homes from that era typically have sound wiring, so the question is whether the panel has room for a transfer switch. We check that on the first visit and quote it in writing.
Often yes, but we check the math first. Both draw significant dedicated capacity, and stacking them on a busy panel can trip breakers. If there isn't room, we discuss a panel upgrade alongside the new circuits.
Most homeowners here think so, especially with the county's storm exposure. A single surge can damage electronics throughout the house at once, and it's a small add-on next to a generator or panel upgrade.
