Mount Laurel Electricians, Local and Direct

With 46,026 residents, Mount Laurel is one of the bigger townships we cover, and a Mount Laurel electrician from Thomas Edison Electric is never far away. Our crews dispatch from their own homes across Burlington County in fully stocked TEE vans, working ZIP 08054 alongside neighboring Marlton, Moorestown and Medford.

Every electrician on our team is a direct hire, never a subcontractor, and we hold New Jersey electrical license 34EB01791600 with full insurance behind it. We are a family-owned, multigenerational company that has completed over 37,000 jobs since 2021. Written quotes come before the work, we answer 24/7, and we waive the dispatch fee if we are ever late.

Electrical Capacity for a Growing Mount Laurel

Mount Laurel's median home dates to 1987, the newest building stock among the townships we serve nearby. Copper wiring is standard here, so the calls we get are less about failing connections and more about running out of capacity. A panel sized for a 1980s household often cannot absorb a heat pump, a hot tub and an EV charger without upgrades.

Because the township is large, our crews see a wide mix of homes in a single week, from Hainesport-adjacent streets to blocks near Lumberton and Rancocas. That range keeps us fast at sizing the right fix instead of guessing.

The township sits in the same storm path as the rest of Burlington County. Nor'easters and tropical remnants pass through, and flooding is on record along the Rancocas Creek watershed, so a whole-home surge protector and a properly sized panel both help a house ride out the next one.

Common Electrical Projects in Mount Laurel Homes

Most 1987-built homes in town have solid copper wiring. Our work skews toward capacity, not repair. A panel that trips under load usually needs more room, not a rewire.

We handle amperage upgrades for households adding a heat pump or electric range, home EV charger installation on a dedicated circuit, and range, dryer and AC outlet work for kitchen and laundry remodels. Standby generator installs are common too, since the area sees the same storm exposure as the rest of the county. We size every recommendation to the panel you actually have, not a generic upgrade.

Permits, Inspections and Your Utility in Mount Laurel

A bigger panel or a new generator circuit in Mount Laurel touches the utility before it touches us. PSE&G has to disconnect and reconnect service at the meter for that kind of upgrade, and we set the appointment so it lines up with our crew's visit instead of leaving you to coordinate two schedules.

The permit itself runs through Mount Laurel Township's own municipal construction office under New Jersey's Uniform Construction Code, same requirement as every town in the state. We file it under our license and cover the inspection. If a storm knocks out power on your street, that call goes to PSE&G. If it is just your house, or a breaker that will not hold, that call comes to us.

Electrical service

I was really impressed with Don and Engeli and the work they performed for me. We had a discussion on the best way to run the new line for the septic pump and I really appreciated the extra effort they made to keep the esthetic of my home's exterior. They were pleasant and professional and all my fans and lights work great! They were patient and waited until I approved everything. A great team!

Mount Laurel Electrical FAQs

Is a Mount Laurel electrician available for emergencies at night?

Yes. We answer 24/7, 365 days a year, holidays included, and our electricians dispatch from their own homes nearby, not a distant shop. Every van is stocked before the call comes in. Reach us at 800-380-6800 whenever the problem starts.

My panel trips when I run the AC and the dryer together. Why?

That is usually a capacity issue, not a fault. Builders sized a 1987-era panel for that decade's appliances. A heat pump, hot tub or EV charger added later can push past what the panel can carry. We measure the actual load and recommend the smallest upgrade that fixes it.

Can you install a generator for a Mount Laurel home?

Yes. As a certified Generac dealer, we sell, install and service standby generators with automatic transfer switches, sized to the storm exposure Burlington County sees from nor'easters and tropical remnants. We handle the electrical side and the permit together.

Do I need PSE&G involved for an EV charger install?

Often yes, if the install requires a service upgrade or meter change. We check your panel's available capacity first. If it can absorb a new circuit without more amperage from PSE&G, we install it directly. If not, we coordinate the utility side so the whole project moves as one job.
