Electrical Service for One of the County's Busier Townships

Maple Shade's homes date to a median year of 1969, and aluminum branch wiring, 100-amp panels, two-prong outlets and the occasional recalled Federal Pacific or Zinsco panel are all part of the mix. With a population of 20,076, it's one of the larger communities we serve in Burlington County, and our crews stay busy here.

Beyond the panel and the wiring, a lot of our Maple Shade calls are about light and layout: custom lighting design for a remodeled kitchen, ceiling and attic fans for rooms that run hot in summer, and communication and data line work for a home office.

PSE&G is the utility across Maple Shade, and we schedule any service upgrade or meter change directly with them as part of the job. We also cover Moorestown, Riverton, Marlton and Mount Laurel with the same local crews.

Common Electrical Projects in Maple Shade Homes

Start with the panel. A 1969 Maple Shade home usually runs on 100 amps, and if the label reads Federal Pacific or Zinsco, that panel gets replaced before anything else. A 200-amp upgrade retires it and adds room for the rest of the house.

Aluminum branch wiring from this era loosens at its connections over time. Warm outlet covers and flickering lights are the usual signs, and we fix them with rated connectors or new copper where the run calls for it.

Beyond the basics, we get a lot of calls for custom lighting design in remodeled kitchens and living rooms, ceiling and attic fan installs, and electrical code violation fixes ahead of a home sale or refinance.

Permits, Inspections and Your Utility in Maple Shade

Maple Shade issues its own electrical permits through the local construction office, under the New Jersey Uniform Construction Code. Our license covers the filing, and one of our people meets the sub-code official for both the rough-in and final walkthroughs, so the closed permit lands in your file with nothing left undone.

PSE&G is the utility across Maple Shade. Any job that touches the meter, a panel upgrade, a new service, a relocation, gets a disconnect and reconnect date from PSE&G, which we handle. A downed line outside is theirs. Once power reaches your meter, the rest is on us, day or night.

Electrical service

I was really impressed with Don and Engeli and the work they performed for me. We had a discussion on the best way to run the new line for the septic pump and I really appreciated the extra effort they made to keep the esthetic of my home's exterior. They were pleasant and professional and all my fans and lights work great! They were patient and waited until I approved everything. A great team!

Maple Shade Electrical FAQs

Will an insurance company ask about my Maple Shade home's wiring?

Some do, especially for a house from 1969. Insurers increasingly ask about aluminum branch wiring and older panel brands before writing or renewing a policy. If that comes up, an electrical safety inspection gives you documentation that settles the question either way.

Do I need an inspection before selling my Maple Shade home?

It's worth having one. Buyers and their inspectors often flag aluminum wiring, an old panel or ungrounded outlets in a 1969-era house, and those can turn into last-minute negotiations. An electrical safety inspection ahead of listing gives you a written report and time to fix what matters before it becomes a bargaining chip.

Can you install lighting and ceiling fans in the same visit as a panel repair?

Often, yes, if it's scheduled in advance. We handle custom lighting design and ceiling and attic fan installation alongside panel and wiring work regularly. Tell us what you have in mind when you call, and we'll quote everything together in one written estimate.

Can I get a same-day quote for electrical work in Maple Shade?

Often, yes. Call 800-380-6800 and describe the job. For most repairs and smaller installs, we can put a written quote in front of you the same day. Larger projects, like a full panel upgrade, usually need a short look at the panel first before the number is final.
