Start with the panel. A 1963 house in Doylestown often still runs on 100 amps. If the label reads Federal Pacific or Zinsco, replacement comes first. A 200-amp panel upgrade retires the recalled panel and adds capacity in one project.
Next, the wiring. Warm cover plates and flickering lights are classic signs of loose aluminum connections. We remake those joints with the right connectors or pull new copper. Two-prong outlets get a real ground or GFCI protection.
