Electrical Work Around Lincoln University

Across Chester County, copper wiring is the norm, but 100 to 150-amp panels run out of headroom once a heat pump, a hot tub or an EV charger joins the load. That capacity question is behind most of the calls we take in this corner of the county, more than any wiring hazard.

Our electricians are direct employees, not subcontractors, and they dispatch from their own homes rather than a shared yard. The same crew reaches Oxford, West Grove and Cochranville too. Call any hour of any day, holidays included.

Common Electrical Projects in Lincoln University Homes

Across Chester County, most panels carry 100 to 150 amps and copper branch wiring, so the usual call here is about headroom, not hazard. A load calculation tells us fast whether your panel has room for a heat pump or a Level 2 EV charger.

Backup power comes up often too. A whole-home generator with an automatic transfer switch keeps the essentials running through an outage, and as a certified Generac dealer, we install and service the system ourselves.

Dedicated circuits round out the list, for a workshop or an addition, each with its own breaker and written price.

Permits, Inspections and Your Utility in Lincoln University

Electrical work here needs a permit from the township, issued under the state's Uniform Construction Code. Most townships in this part of Chester County contract the inspection out to a third-party agency instead of staffing their own building office. We handle the filing, the scheduling and the site visit.

PECO Energy Company supplies power to the area. A generator or panel installation needs a disconnect and reconnect at the meter, which we schedule directly with PECO. PECO's crews handle a downed line. Ours handle everything the meter feeds, any hour of the day.

Electrical service

I was really impressed with Don and Engeli and the work they performed for me. We had a discussion on the best way to run the new line for the septic pump and I really appreciated the extra effort they made to keep the esthetic of my home's exterior. They were pleasant and professional and all my fans and lights work great! They were patient and waited until I approved everything. A great team!

Lincoln University Electrical FAQs

Do I need a permit for a standby generator here?

Yes. A standby generator needs an electrical permit, and a fuel-line permit if it runs on gas, both through the township. We handle the paperwork and the inspection, so you just approve the written quote.

Can my panel handle an EV charger without an upgrade?

Sometimes. Most homes here run 100 to 150-amp service, and a Level 2 charger needs its own circuit. We run a load calculation first. If the panel is full, a 200-amp upgrade solves it, coordinated with PECO.

Who fixes a power outage, you or PECO?

It depends where the trouble is. If the outage covers your neighbors too, that's a PECO line issue. If only your home lost power, the problem is likely inside your panel or wiring, and that side is ours, any hour you call.

What should I budget for a dedicated circuit?

It depends on the run and the panel, so we won't quote a number sight unseen. What we promise is a written price before any work starts, based on an actual look at your setup.
