The Thomas Edison difference
Mount Pocono electrician calls usually start with one question: who is actually showing up? At Thomas Edison Electric it is a directly employed electrician who lives around Monroe County and drives a stocked TEE van from home, never a subcontractor. Mount Pocono sits at ZIP 18344, beside Pocono Summit and Pocono Manor.
We hold PA license PA075449, carry full insurance, and answer 24/7, 365 days a year, holidays included. Every quote is written before work starts, and a late arrival waives the dispatch fee.
Electricians live around the Poconos and dispatch from home in stocked vans.
Copper wiring and 100 to 150-amp service often need more room today.
We book the meter disconnect and reconnect with whichever utility serves you.
Ice and downed trees cause regular outages, so we size and install standby power.
The price is on paper before work starts, with no surprises after.
PA075449 license, 4.8 stars on Google, and over 37,000 jobs completed since 2021.

We're dedicated to building lasting relationships with every client through exceptional service and guaranteed results.
Our team delivers safe, affordable, long-lasting electrical services.
Your time is precious. If we're late, we'll waive your dispatch fee.
Transparent pricing means written quotes with no surprises.
The typical Mount Pocono home dates to the mid-1980s, meaning copper branch wiring and a 100 to 150-amp panel that runs short fast once a heat pump, hot tub or EV charger joins the load.
Elevation makes weather rougher up here, and ice or downed trees are a routine cause of long outages. PPL Electric Utilities serves Mount Pocono, with Met-Ed covering other parts of the county. Call 610-782-9000 and we will walk through what your panel can handle.

A mid-1980s panel is usually copper and grounded, which is the good news. Capacity is the catch. A 100 or 150-amp panel filled with a furnace, well pump and central air often has little room for a Level 2 EV charger or a hot tub.
We check the load first, then upgrade to 200 amps with a circuit breaker upgrade when needed. A standby generator is the other common request before winter.
Mount Pocono issues electrical permits under Pennsylvania's Uniform Construction Code, and like most of the county it uses a third-party agency for plan review and inspections, which we handle start to finish.
PPL Electric Utilities serves Mount Pocono, with Met-Ed present in other parts of the county. A service upgrade needs a disconnect and reconnect on their end, and we schedule it. Storm damage outside is the utility's repair. From the meter in, any hour, that is ours.
Our Pennsylvania and New Jersey experts are ready to resolve your electrical woes.

I was extremely pleased with meeting Dennis T and with the work he completed today. He has a lovely personality, a level of professionalism that I appreciated and I was comfortable with him in my home, even into the evening to complete the work. I'm glad to have found Thomas Edison Electric and I would use the service again. Thank you Dennis for making this visit less painful.

Hector was amazing! Friendly, informative, fast, and respectful. Would absolutely recommend him to anyone looking for an electrician. He installed new outlets, dimmer switch’s and a fan. All projects were completed perfectly. Hector was also friendly and laid back and was kind enough to answer all of my questions.

We have an older Casablanca fan, it stopped functioning properly. Thomas Edison sent an electric technician out in two days. Nassim found the problem in the wall switch. I was given the opportunity to find a replacment switch . Once I secured the switch they were out in a few days. Installation was completed within an hour. Will use Thomas Edison again .

Our technician Dennis did an amazing job installing a new circuit panel and new outlets for us. We are so grateful and so happy to be able to plug multiple things in without tripping the breaker. Our lights also look so much brighter. Thank you so much! Very professional, very knowledgeable and estimates are fairly priced compared to the others around the area. Very happy overall. Highly recommend.

Mount Pocono Electrical FAQs
Yes. We answer 24/7, 365 days a year, and the electrician who responds lives locally. Vans are stocked for same-visit repairs. Call 610-782-9000 whenever the problem starts.
Usually, once we check the amperage. A 100 or 150-amp panel from that era often has little headroom left. We size the load and upgrade to 200 amps if needed, price in writing.
A street-wide outage is PPL or Met-Ed's repair. If only your house lost power, the trouble is likely inside, and that is ours.
Many homeowners here think so. Ice and downed trees knock out power for days some winters. A properly sized generator with an automatic transfer switch keeps essentials running until lines are back.
