New Columbia's homes date to 1981 on average, newer than most of the county. Copper wiring is standard here, which is good news. The catch is capacity. A 100 to 150-amp panel from that era runs out of room fast once a heat pump, hot tub or EV charger enters the picture.
That is the call we get most in New Columbia: can the panel handle one more thing? Often the answer is a dedicated circuit for the new load. Sometimes it means a full 200-amp upgrade instead.
An EV charger is one of the most common additions we install here. We size the circuit to the panel you have, not the other way around. PPL Electric Utilities and Citizens Electric Company both serve the area.
