The Thomas Edison difference

Your Ronks Electricians

Ronks electricians from Thomas Edison Electric see plenty of knob-and-tube wiring, since much of Ronks dates to 1938. Ronks itself is small, 202 people, spread across ZIPs 17572 and 17573, with Bird In Hand 1.1 miles off, Gordonville 1.9 and Smoketown 1.9. All of it sits inside Lancaster County.

PA075449 covers our license, and full insurance backs every job. Electricians here are hired straight onto our team, not subcontracted, and they answer calls 24/7, 365 days a year. A written quote comes before any tool touches a wire, and a late arrival means we waive the dispatch fee.

Knob-and-tube country

A lot of Ronks homes still have 1938-era wiring, fuse boxes or 60-amp service, and we work with all three safely.

Small population, full coverage

202 residents still get the same 24/7 licensed crew as any larger town in the county.

Electrical Service in and Around Ronks

A Ronks house built in 1938 often still carries some of its original knob-and-tube wiring, a fuse box instead of breakers, and a 60-amp service that was generous for its time and thin for today. None of that rules out modern power. It just means the starting point is usually an electrical safety inspection, not a guess.

PPL Electric Utilities serves Ronks. From the meter out, PPL keeps the lines up. From the meter in, panel to outlet, that's ours, including a circuit breaker upgrade when a fuse box has reached its limit. Call 610-777-7600 any hour.

Permits, Inspections and Your Utility in Ronks

Before any wire gets touched in Ronks, a township permit comes first, required under Pennsylvania's Uniform Construction Code. Ronks' township, like its neighbors, contracts a private agency to inspect the work rather than running its own building department. We pull that permit and get the inspection scheduled as part of the job, not an extra step billed later.

PPL Electric Utilities is the utility here. A panel upgrade or new service means PPL at the meter, and we're the ones who set the date. Outages across the block are PPL's territory. A problem only in your house is ours to fix, any hour.

Light fixture service

Mike from Thomas Edison Electric replaced our out-of-service-life whole-house surge protectors and repaired a lighting fixture for our deck. He did an excellent professional job. He didn't try to sell us things we didn't need. I highly recommend Mike.
