The Thomas Edison difference

Your Worcester Township Electricians

Looking for a Worcester electrician? Thomas Edison Electric's crews are local to Montgomery County start to finish, and Worcester Township, ZIP 19490 and home to 10,793 people, is part of that territory every day. Cedars is 1.4 miles away, West Point 2.7 and Kulpsville 3.0, with Fairview Village and Skippack close behind at 3.2.

We are a multigenerational, family-owned company, licensed under PA075449 and insured, with more than 37,000 jobs completed since 2021 across Pennsylvania and New Jersey. Every electrician we send is our own employee, not a subcontractor, dispatching from their own home in a fully stocked TEE van. We answer 24/7, 365 days a year, holidays included, with a written quote before work starts. If we run late, we waive the dispatch fee.

Sized for 1993, not today

A panel built for its decade often cannot handle a heat pump, hot tub and EV charger together. We size the fix to the real load.

Electrical Service Across Worcester Township

Worcester Township's homes date to around 1993 on average, later than most of the surrounding county. That means copper wiring is the norm here, not the aluminum branch circuits common in older nearby towns. The trouble instead is capacity. A 100 to 150-amp panel sized for a 1990s household often runs out of room once a heat pump, a hot tub or an EV charger joins the load.

We start every visit by checking what the panel can actually support. Often the answer is a straightforward 200-amp panel upgrade, which opens up space for whatever comes next: a second EV charger, a home office, a larger AC unit. Sometimes it is simpler, moving a few circuits around to free up capacity.

PECO Energy Company is the main utility across most of Worcester Township, though a couple of nearby boroughs run their own systems, so it is worth checking the name on your bill. Whichever one applies, we coordinate the meter-side work directly.

Common Electrical Projects in Worcester Township Homes

Worcester Township's newer housing stock changes what shows up on a typical service call. Instead of rewiring old aluminum circuits, most jobs here are about adding capacity to a panel that was never built for how the house is used now.

Permits, Inspections and Your Utility in Worcester Township

Worcester Township issues electrical permits under Pennsylvania's Uniform Construction Code. As in most of Montgomery County, plan review and inspection typically go through a third-party agency rather than township staff directly. We handle the whole sequence: pulling the permit, booking the inspection and walking the inspector through the finished work, built into your written quote.

PECO Energy Company serves most of Worcester Township, though it is worth checking the name on your bill, since a couple of nearby boroughs run their own electric systems. A panel or service upgrade requires a scheduled disconnect and reconnect at the meter, and we arrange that directly. Storm damage to the lines themselves is the utility's to repair. Everything from the meter inward is our work, any hour.

Electrical service

I was really impressed with Don and Engeli and the work they performed for me. We had a discussion on the best way to run the new line for the septic pump and I really appreciated the extra effort they made to keep the esthetic of my home's exterior. They were pleasant and professional and all my fans and lights work great! They were patient and waited until I approved everything. A great team!

Worcester Township Electrical FAQs

Can a Worcester Township home handle an EV charger and a hot tub on the same panel?

Often, but it depends on what else is running. Homes built here around 1993 usually carry 100 to 150 amps, and stacking a heat pump, a hot tub and an EV charger on the original load can push it past capacity. We measure the actual draw first, then tell you in writing whether an upgrade makes sense.

Is there a 24-hour electrician serving Worcester Township?

Yes. We answer 24/7, 365 days a year, holidays included, and our electricians dispatch from their own homes across the county. Call 610-270-9700 whenever the problem comes up.

The power is out on my street. Do I call PECO or Thomas Edison Electric?

Look outside first. If the whole street has lost power, that is a utility outage, and PECO restores it. If only your house lost power, the problem is likely on your side of the meter, and that side is ours to fix.

Do you also cover Kulpsville, Skippack and Fairview Village?

Yes. The same local crews that cover Worcester Township also handle Kulpsville, Skippack, Fairview Village, Cedars and West Point.
