Modern Panels, Modern Loads in Skippack

A 1994 build year means copper wiring throughout and a panel that was generous for its time. The strain now comes from what a 1994 house never planned for: an EV charger in the garage, a hot tub out back, or a heat pump replacing an old furnace. A 100 to 150-amp panel can run out of room fast once two or three of those show up.

PECO Energy Company is the primary utility in Skippack. New circuits and service changes get scheduled through PECO, which we handle. Downed lines are PECO's repair. From the meter into the house, that work is ours.

Common Electrical Projects in Skippack Homes

EV charger installs are a regular call in Skippack. We run a dedicated circuit for a Level 2 charger and check the panel's headroom before we commit to a spot in the garage.

Lighting and comfort projects fill out the rest: custom lighting design for a kitchen or patio, and ceiling and attic fan installs or repairs. Each comes with a written price before we start.

Permits, Inspections and Your Utility in Skippack

Skippack Township issues electrical permits under Pennsylvania's Uniform Construction Code, typically through a third-party inspection agency rather than a dedicated building department. We handle the filing, the scheduling and the inspector's visit, all included in your written quote.

PECO Energy Company serves Skippack, so an EV charger circuit or panel change means a scheduled disconnect and reconnect that we arrange. PECO restores downed lines. Everything past the meter is ours.

Electrical service

I was really impressed with Don and Engeli and the work they performed for me. We had a discussion on the best way to run the new line for the septic pump and I really appreciated the extra effort they made to keep the esthetic of my home's exterior. They were pleasant and professional and all my fans and lights work great! They were patient and waited until I approved everything. A great team!

Skippack Electrical FAQs

Can my Skippack home's panel handle an EV charger?

Usually, though it depends what else is already drawing power. A 100 to 150-amp panel from 1994 can be tight once a hot tub or heat pump is added too. We check the load and quote a 200-amp panel in writing only if it is actually needed.

Do you install ceiling and attic fans?

Yes, new installs and repairs both, including the wiring and any switch or wall control that goes with it. Most jobs finish in a single visit, priced before we start.

Is there a 24-hour emergency electrician in Skippack?

Yes. We answer 24/7, 365 days a year, holidays included, with electricians who dispatch from home nearby in fully stocked TEE vans. Call 610-489-1300 whenever the panel trips.

Who issues electrical permits in Skippack?

The township does, under Pennsylvania's Uniform Construction Code, through a third-party inspection agency. We file the permit, book the inspector and meet them on site, so you do not have to.
