Electrical Service Across Annville

PPL Electric Utilities serves Annville, and any service upgrade or meter change gets scheduled with them directly, disconnect and reconnect both. Line outages are PPL's to fix. Once power passes the meter, that side of the house is ours, any hour you call.

Our electricians also answer in Palmyra, Campbelltown and the rest of Lebanon County from their own homes, not a shared shop.

Common Electrical Projects in Annville Homes

The typical Annville home dates to 1959, old enough that knob-and-tube remnants, fuse boxes, 60-amp services and ungrounded outlets still turn up behind the walls. We check the service size and the panel type first on almost every call.

From there, the common fixes are a 200-amp panel upgrade, GFCI protection on two-prong outlets, and rewiring sections still running on cloth-covered conductors. An EV charger or backup generator usually waits on that panel work.

Permits, Inspections and Your Utility in Annville

Annville is unincorporated, so the surrounding township issues the electrical permit under Pennsylvania's Uniform Construction Code. As with most of Lebanon County, the township sends inspections to a third-party agency instead of keeping its own building department. We pull the permit, book the inspector and fold both into your written quote.

PPL Electric Utilities is the utility here. Panel and service upgrades need a scheduled disconnect and reconnect with PPL, which we set up directly.

Electrical service

I was really impressed with Don and Engeli and the work they performed for me. We had a discussion on the best way to run the new line for the septic pump and I really appreciated the extra effort they made to keep the esthetic of my home's exterior. They were pleasant and professional and all my fans and lights work great! They were patient and waited until I approved everything. A great team!

Annville Electrical FAQs

Is there a 24-hour electrician who serves Annville?

Yes. Thomas Edison Electric answers 24/7, 365 days a year, holidays included, and the electrician who shows up lives in the area and drives a fully stocked TEE van. Call 717-274-2700 whenever the problem starts.

My Annville home still has a fuse box. Is that a problem?

Not one we can't fix. Homes built around 1959 often still run on fuses and 60-amp service. We replace the panel with modern breakers and add capacity in one visit, priced in writing.

The power is out on my Annville street. Do I call you or PPL?

Check your neighbors first. A dark street points to a PPL outage, which PPL repairs. Power out at just your house usually means the trouble sits on our side of the meter.

Can you add an EV charger to an older Annville panel?

Usually, after a capacity check. A 1950s panel at 60 or 100 amps often needs an upgrade first. We quote that in writing and install the charger circuit in the same visit.
