Aluminum branch wiring is the Chalfont problem we see most. It works until a connection loosens. Then the outlet warms up, the lights flicker, and something smells hot. The fix is rarely a full rewire. We remake every connection with connectors rated for aluminum, or run copper where the layout allows.
The other 1973 leftovers are the panel and the outlets. A Federal Pacific or Zinsco label means a recalled panel that needs to go. Two-prong outlets need a ground or GFCI protection.
