We hold Pennsylvania license PA075449 and full insurance. Every electrician on our team is a direct employee, not a subcontractor. Expect 24/7 service, 365 days a year, and a written quote before anything starts.

Wiring From 1969, Explained

The typical Enola home was built in 1969, right in the middle of the aluminum wiring years. Aluminum branch circuits, 100-amp panels, two-prong outlets and the occasional recalled Federal Pacific or Zinsco panel are all common finds here.

The same local crew that answers Enola calls also covers Summerdale, Camp Hill and Lemoyne. Reach us at 717-274-2700.

PPL Electric Utilities is the main provider, with Met-Ed and Adams Electric Cooperative serving other pockets of the county. We confirm which one applies before scheduling a service upgrade.

Common Electrical Projects in Enola Homes

Aluminum branch wiring is the headline issue in a 1969 Enola home. The metal itself isn't the problem. Its connections loosen over time, and a loose connection under load runs hot. We remake those joints with rated connectors, or run new copper where that makes more sense.

If your panel reads Federal Pacific or Zinsco, replacement comes first, since both brands have a history of breakers that fail to trip. A 200-amp panel upgrade solves the panel and the capacity question together.

Two-prong outlets round out the list. We add a ground where the wiring allows it, or a GFCI breaker instead.

Permits, Inspections and Your Utility in Enola

Enola's electrical permits run through Pennsylvania's Uniform Construction Code, handled locally through a third-party inspection agency. We manage the filing and the inspection from start to finish.

PPL Electric Utilities serves most of Enola, with Met-Ed and Adams Electric Cooperative covering other parts of the county. A panel swap or new service line needs a scheduled disconnect and reconnect, which we book directly. A street-wide outage is the utility's repair. A problem at your panel is ours.

Electrical service

I was really impressed with Don and Engeli and the work they performed for me. We had a discussion on the best way to run the new line for the septic pump and I really appreciated the extra effort they made to keep the esthetic of my home's exterior. They were pleasant and professional and all my fans and lights work great! They were patient and waited until I approved everything. A great team!

Enola Electrical FAQs

Is aluminum wiring in my Enola home a fire risk?

The risk sits at the connections, not the wire itself. A loose joint can overheat under load, so we check every outlet and splice, not just the panel. Most aluminum wiring is fine for years once it's been inspected.

How do I know if my panel is a recalled Federal Pacific or Zinsco?

Check the label inside the panel door. Both brands are common in Enola's 1969-era homes, and both have a history of breakers that don't trip. Not sure? We'll check it free during any service call.

Do two-prong outlets need to be replaced in Enola?

Not always. A GFCI breaker protects an ungrounded circuit without a full rewire. A true ground is the more thorough fix where the wiring supports it. We'll price both.

Is there a 24-hour electrician serving Enola?

Yes, 24/7, 365 days a year. Our electricians live in the area and dispatch from home. Call 717-274-2700 whenever you need us.
