The Thomas Edison difference

Herndon Electricians, On Call Around the Clock

Small towns like Herndon do not always get fast service, but a Herndon electrician from Thomas Edison Electric changes that. Our crews dispatch from their own homes across Northumberland County in fully stocked TEE vans, never as subcontractors. Herndon is a small borough of about 366 people in ZIP 17830, near Dornsife, Dalmatia and Rebuck.

We carry PA license PA075449 and full insurance, with a 4.8 star rating on Google to back it up. Every job starts with a written price, any hour you call 570-648-8800.

Old-house wiring, no surprise

A 1938 build year means fuse boxes, knob-and-tube remnants and 60-amp services turn up on most Herndon service calls.

On our payroll, not a subcontractor's

Herndon calls get an employee who dispatches from home in a stocked TEE van.

Code corrections handled

Double-tapped breakers, missing GFCI protection and open junction boxes, fixed and documented.

Two utilities, one point of contact

We deal directly with PPL or Citizens Electric for your service upgrade, so you do not have to.

Price in writing, always

Nothing starts until you approve a written quote, and a late arrival costs us the dispatch fee.

Licensed, insured, reliable

PA075449, 4.8 stars on Google, and available around the clock, holidays included.

Everyday Electrical Work in Herndon

Northumberland County runs old, and Herndon's houses fit right in: fuse boxes, knob-and-tube remnants, 60-amp services and ungrounded outlets show up on a lot of our service calls here. A circuit breaker upgrade replaces an aging fuse box and brings the service up to modern capacity.

We also correct the small things a home inspection tends to flag: missing GFCI protection, double-tapped breakers, open junction boxes. See electrical code violations for the corrections we handle most.

Permits, Inspections and Your Utility in Herndon

As a borough, Herndon issues its own electrical permits under Pennsylvania's Uniform Construction Code, though like most Northumberland County municipalities it contracts the plan review and inspections out to a third-party agency. We handle the filing, set the inspection and are there when the inspector shows up.

PPL Electric Utilities is the main provider around Herndon, and Citizens Electric Company serves other parts of Northumberland County. When a service upgrade needs a disconnect and reconnect at the meter, we schedule it with whichever company applies. Line damage and outages belong to the utility. Once power passes the meter, the job is ours.

Light fixture service

Mike from Thomas Edison Electric replaced our out-of-service-life whole-house surge protectors and repaired a lighting fixture for our deck. He did an excellent professional job. He didn't try to sell us things we didn't need. I highly recommend Mike.
