Three providers serve Northumberland County. PPL Electric Utilities covers most of it. Citizens Electric Company serves a portion, and Watsontown runs its own borough electric system. Any service upgrade or meter base swap means a scheduled disconnect and reconnect with the right one. We arrange that. The provider owns the lines and the meter. Every wire from the meter into the house is ours to handle.
The median build year here is 1954. That makes this a county of 60-amp fuse boxes, early 100-amp services and ungrounded outlets. Homes added during the 1960s and 1970s often have aluminum branch wiring too. You might be in Shamokin, Sunbury or Milton, or out toward Dalmatia and Herndon. Either way, a house that old deserves a look. That is especially true before you add a heat pump, a modern kitchen or a car charger. That is not a criticism of the house. It is a reason to have the wiring inspected before you ask more of it.
Our electricians are on our own payroll. So the person at your door in Shamokin works for us and no one else. We also serve Lycoming, Montour, Columbia, Union, Snyder, Schuylkill, Dauphin, Juniata and Perry counties, which surround it.
A house in Shamokin or Sunbury from the early 1950s often still has its original fuse box. It usually still runs a 60-amp service. A few circuits usually do the work of ten. The projects we do most in Northumberland County:

So a panel job in Sunbury and one in Milton go through different people for permits and inspection. We pull the permit, book the inspection and meet the inspector. That is in your written quote, not on top of it.
The utility side takes an extra step here because there are three providers. PPL Electric Utilities serves most homes, Citizens Electric Company serves some, and Watsontown borough runs its own power system. For a service upgrade or meter base swap we schedule the disconnect and reconnect with the right one. Outages and downed lines are theirs. The meter socket, panel, circuits and everything inside the house are ours. We take those calls 24 hours a day.

Usually, yes. A fuse box in a 1954 Northumberland County home is typically a 60-amp service. That is too small for central air, an electric range and a dryer running together. The bigger hazard is an oversized fuse in a slot meant for a smaller one. A breaker panel fixes both, and we price it in writing.
Yes. Watsontown runs its own municipal electric system, separate from PPL and Citizens Electric. The permit and the work inside your home are the same. The only difference is that we schedule the disconnect and reconnect for a service upgrade with the borough. Tell us your address and we will handle it.
