The median Moosic home was built in 1969, squarely in aluminum-wiring territory. A 100-amp panel was standard then, two-prong outlets came with no ground wire, and Federal Pacific or Zinsco panels, both since recalled, show up more often than you would expect.
PPL Electric Utilities delivers power to Moosic and owns the poles, lines and meter. Everything past the meter, the panel, the wiring, the outlets, falls to us. A service upgrade or new meter base gets scheduled with PPL directly, so the timing matches our crew's visit.
