A New Holland home from 1970 usually has one of two problems waiting in the panel: aluminum branch wiring or a recalled breaker brand. Aluminum connections loosen over time and show up as warm outlet covers or flickering lights, and we fix that with connectors rated for aluminum-to-copper joints.
If the panel itself reads Federal Pacific or Zinsco, we recommend replacement rather than repair, since both brands have a documented history of breakers that fail to trip. A 200-amp upgrade retires the old panel and leaves room to add an EV charger or a generator later.
New Holland borough issues electrical permits under Pennsylvania's Uniform Construction Code, using a third-party inspection agency the way most of the county does. We pull the permit, schedule the inspection and handle the walkthrough as part of your written quote, not as an extra step you manage yourself.
