Electrical Service in New Holland

New Holland's homes typically date to 1970, right in the years when aluminum branch wiring, 100-amp panels and two-prong outlets were the standard build. Federal Pacific and Zinsco panels, both since recalled, still show up when we open a service panel in town.

Our electricians work directly for Thomas Edison Electric, never as subcontractors, dispatching from their own homes across the area. The same crew also reaches Blue Ball, East Earl and Terre Hill. Call 610-777-7600 any hour, any day.

PPL Electric Utilities delivers power to New Holland. PPL is responsible for the poles and the meter; the panel, the branch wiring and every outlet inside belong to us.

Common Electrical Projects in New Holland Homes

A New Holland home from 1970 usually has one of two problems waiting in the panel: aluminum branch wiring or a recalled breaker brand. Aluminum connections loosen over time and show up as warm outlet covers or flickering lights, and we fix that with connectors rated for aluminum-to-copper joints.

If the panel itself reads Federal Pacific or Zinsco, we recommend replacement rather than repair, since both brands have a documented history of breakers that fail to trip. A 200-amp upgrade retires the old panel and leaves room to add an EV charger or a generator later.

Permits, Inspections and Your Utility in New Holland

New Holland borough issues electrical permits under Pennsylvania's Uniform Construction Code, using a third-party inspection agency the way most of the county does. We pull the permit, schedule the inspection and handle the walkthrough as part of your written quote, not as an extra step you manage yourself.

PPL Electric Utilities is the utility serving New Holland. A panel upgrade or new service needs PPL at the meter, and we schedule that appointment. PPL fixes downed lines outside; we fix the panel and wiring inside.

Electrical service

I was really impressed with Don and Engeli and the work they performed for me. We had a discussion on the best way to run the new line for the septic pump and I really appreciated the extra effort they made to keep the esthetic of my home's exterior. They were pleasant and professional and all my fans and lights work great! They were patient and waited until I approved everything. A great team!

New Holland Electrical FAQs

Is there a 24-hour electrician serving New Holland?

Yes. We're on call 24/7, 365 days a year, and the electrician who answers lives in the area. Call 610-777-7600 anytime, van already stocked.

How do I know if my New Holland home has a recalled panel?

Check the label inside the panel door for Federal Pacific Stab-Lok or Zinsco. Either one calls for replacement rather than repair.

Can aluminum wiring in a New Holland home be fixed without a full rewire?

Usually yes. The failure point is almost always the connection, not the wire. We remake each joint with a rated connector.

Who handles a power outage in New Holland, PPL or you?

PPL if it covers your street. Us if the loss is isolated to your house or specific circuits while the rest stays lit.
