The Thomas Edison difference
Need a New Milford electrician? Thomas Edison Electric covers this Susquehanna County borough of 748 people, ZIP 18834, close to Gibson, Harford and Hallstead. New Milford's homes date mostly to 1938, among the older housing stock in Susquehanna County.
A 60-amp fuse box and ungrounded outlets were standard then. A modern kitchen, a window air conditioner or an electric dryer often was not part of the original plan. Our electricians dispatch from their own homes in fully stocked TEE vans. Call 215-227-7000 any hour.
Range, dryer and AC circuits added cleanly, sized for what you actually plug in.
A full panel upgrade brings real breaker capacity to an older home.
A full safety inspection before you list or buy, with findings in writing.
Electricians dispatch from their own homes across the county, not a distant shop.
The quote is approved before any work begins.
24/7, 365 days a year, holidays included.
We're dedicated to building lasting relationships with every client through exceptional service and guaranteed results.

Transparent pricing means written quotes with no surprises.
Older homes in New Milford often need a dedicated circuit added for a window AC unit, an electric range or a dryer, since a 1938 panel wasn't built to carry them. Range, dryer and AC outlet installation is one of the most requested jobs in the borough.
If the panel is still a 60-amp fuse box, we upgrade it to modern breakers with real capacity. We also offer a full electrical safety inspection before a home sale. Every quote is written down before we start, whether the job is one outlet or a full panel.
New Milford Borough doesn't staff its own building department. Permits here go through a third-party inspection agency under Pennsylvania's Uniform Construction Code, the arrangement most of Susquehanna County relies on. We file the permit and coordinate the inspection so you don't have to track it down yourself.
PPL Electric Utilities runs the lines into New Milford Borough. Outages on their side of the meter are PPL's to fix. A service upgrade or new meter base means a scheduled disconnect and reconnect, which we arrange directly with PPL. Everything past the meter, including the panel and every outlet in the house, is our responsibility.
Our Pennsylvania and New Jersey experts are ready to resolve your electrical woes.

Mike from Thomas Edison Electric replaced our out-of-service-life whole-house surge protectors and repaired a lighting fixture for our deck. He did an excellent professional job. He didn't try to sell us things we didn't need. I highly recommend Mike.
