The Thomas Edison difference

Schaefferstown Electricians on Your Payroll, Not a Stranger's

Call a Schaefferstown electrician and Thomas Edison Electric sends someone who already works this stretch of Lebanon County. ZIP 17088 is small, just under a thousand people, sitting between Kleinfeltersville 2.4 miles out, Richland 4.4 and Myerstown 5.3. Small does not change how we staff it. Our electricians are employees, not subcontracted help, and they leave home each day in a stocked TEE van.

Pennsylvania license PA075449 and full insurance back every job, alongside over 37,000 completed since 2021. Ask for a quote and it comes in writing first. Run late on the window we promised and the dispatch fee drops off. Reach us at 717-274-2700 any hour, 24/7, 365 days a year.

Employees, not contractors

Every Schaefferstown job goes to an electrician on our own payroll, working from a stocked van.

1950s wiring, handled correctly

Knob-and-tube remnants and 60-amp services turn up often here, and fixing them is routine for us.

PPL scheduling done for you

Service and meter work goes through PPL Electric Utilities, and we set that appointment ourselves.

Price in writing first

Nothing starts until you approve the quote, small repair or bigger project.

Late arrival, fee waived

Miss the promised window and the dispatch charge comes off your invoice.

On call every hour

24/7, 365 days a year, with financing options available if the job runs bigger.

Electrical Repairs Around Schaefferstown

Homes in the area tend to date to 1950, old enough to still hide knob-and-tube wiring, fuse boxes, 60-amp services and outlets with no ground pin. None of that surprises us. We check the panel first, then decide whether the fix is a handful of grounded outlets or a full circuit breaker and panel upgrade.

Just as often, the call is simpler: a switch that quit, a light fixture ready to be swapped, an outlet near a sink that needs GFCI protection. A safety inspection is the quickest way to find out what else, if anything, needs attention while our van is already in the driveway.

Permits, Inspections and Your Utility in Schaefferstown

Electrical work here falls under Pennsylvania's Uniform Construction Code, and the township, like most in Lebanon County, hands inspection duties to a third-party agency instead of running its own building office. That paperwork is on us. We pull the permit, set the inspection date and make sure the inspector sees what needs to be seen.

PPL Electric Utilities serves this part of the county. Anything that touches the meter, a panel swap or a new service size, needs PPL to disconnect and reconnect, and we coordinate that timing directly. A downed line or a street-wide outage belongs to PPL. Everything on your side of the meter is ours to fix, day or night.

Light fixture service

Mike from Thomas Edison Electric replaced our out-of-service-life whole-house surge protectors and repaired a lighting fixture for our deck. He did an excellent professional job. He didn't try to sell us things we didn't need. I highly recommend Mike.
