Electrical Service Near Shermans Dale

Perry County homes commonly carry aluminum branch wiring, a full 100-amp panel and outlets with no ground wire. Recalled Federal Pacific or Zinsco panels are part of that same era. We inspect the panel brand and the wiring together, and a 200-amp panel upgrade is often the fix.

Properties around Shermans Dale often add what the original build never had, whether that is a dedicated circuit for a shop or well pump, or a backup generator for when the power goes out. We quote both in writing before starting, and financing is available on request.

Permits, Inspections and Your Utility in Shermans Dale

Electrical permits in Shermans Dale go through the township under Pennsylvania's Uniform Construction Code. As in most of Perry County, plan review and inspection are usually handled by an outside agency rather than township staff, so we manage that on your behalf, from filing the permit to meeting the inspector at the door.

PPL Electric Utilities covers most of the Shermans Dale area, while Met-Ed / Penelec serves other parts of Perry County. A service upgrade or new meter base needs a scheduled disconnect and reconnect with whichever one bills you, and we arrange that. A widespread outage is the utility's repair. A single warm breaker or dead outlet inside the house is ours, any hour.

Light fixture service

Mike from Thomas Edison Electric replaced our out-of-service-life whole-house surge protectors and repaired a lighting fixture for our deck. He did an excellent professional job. He didn't try to sell us things we didn't need. I highly recommend Mike.
