The Thomas Edison difference
A Skytop electrician from Thomas Edison Electric is never a stranger to the area. Skytop, ZIP 18357, sits in Monroe County near Canadensis, Buck Hill Falls, Mountainhome and Cresco.
Thomas Edison Electric does not send subcontractors. The electrician on your job is our own, based nearby, driving a van stocked in advance. We are licensed in Pennsylvania under PA075449, insured, and have completed over 37,000 jobs since 2021. Call 610-782-9000 any hour, any day, including holidays.
Winter storms and downed trees are common around Skytop. We size and install standby generators with transfer switches.
A 100 to 150-amp panel does not always need replacing.
Not subcontractors, just electricians who live in the area and drive stocked vans.
The price is on paper before a single tool comes out.

Plenty of the work here is unglamorous and necessary: a dead outlet, a breaker panel that hums, a light fixture that needs swapping before winter. We keep those parts stocked and ready.
Panel capacity, not wiring type, is the usual conversation in Skytop. Copper wiring is standard across Monroe County, so what actually runs short is the 100 to 150-amp box once a hot tub or heat pump joins the load. We test before we recommend a change.
This corner of the county sees its share of winter storms, and downed trees are a recurring cause of extended outages. A standby generator with an automatic transfer switch is the project we install most after a bad one.

Skytop's township issues electrical permits under Pennsylvania's Uniform Construction Code, using a third-party inspection agency instead of its own building department, typical across Monroe County. We file the permit, schedule the inspection and are on site when the inspector arrives.
PPL Electric Utilities serves the area, with Met-Ed also present in other parts of Monroe County. A panel upgrade or new meter base means a scheduled disconnect and reconnect, which we set up with your utility. Storm damage to the lines is the utility's job. Everything from the meter into the house is ours, any hour.
Our Pennsylvania and New Jersey experts are ready to resolve your electrical woes.

Mike Van Uiter and Steve came out to replace our main breaker panel after water came in and damaged it. They made sure everything was done professionally and neatly, labeled and easy to read. Mike also took time to answer other questions we had and make sure we were comfortable with how to do the generator hookup.

Klaus, Mike and Jim were amazing in getting power back to my barn. Our previous underground line failed and Thomas Edison was able to get a new line installed and powered all within 2 days of my call. Mike and Klaus worked late into the night to make sure we got power back on. Thanks for a great job!!!
