Hegins homes typically date to 1961, later than much of the coal region. Aluminum branch wiring, 100-amp panels, two-prong outlets and recalled Federal Pacific or Zinsco panels are what we run into most, not knob-and-tube. A panel upgrade is the usual answer when the panel is recalled or simply full.
We also answer calls toward Valley View, Tower City, Tremont and Pitman with the same crews and the same electrical safety inspection process.
Hegins is unincorporated, so the township manages electrical permitting under Pennsylvania's Uniform Construction Code, and, as in most of the county, a third-party agency handles the actual inspection. We file the permit and are there when the inspector visits.
PPL Electric Utilities serves Hegins. Line repairs after a storm are PPL's job. From the meter into the house, the panel, the wiring and the outlets are ours, any hour.
