The typical Lehman home dates to 1978. Builders leaned on aluminum branch wiring then, plus 100-amp panels and two-prong outlets. Some homes still carry a recalled Federal Pacific or Zinsco panel.
We check the panel brand first on every visit, since a recalled panel is a safety concern, not a maintenance item. Aluminum connections get remade with the right hardware, or we pull new copper where that makes more sense. A 200-amp panel upgrade clears out a tired 100-amp service and makes room for a home EV charger or central air.
