Every electrician we send is a direct employee, not a subcontractor, and each one dispatches from home in a fully stocked TEE van. We're a family-owned, multigenerational company, licensed under PA075449 and fully insured. We answer 24/7, 365 days a year, holidays included, with a written quote before work starts, and we waive the dispatch fee if we run late.

Electrical Service Across Mountain Top

The typical Mountain Top home dates to 1985, newer than most of the county. Copper wiring is standard by then, so the wiring itself is rarely the problem. The panel is.

A 100 to 150-amp panel from the mid-1980s was sized for a house without a heat pump, a hot tub or a car to charge. Add any of those, and a full kitchen remodel besides, and the panel runs out of breaker slots fast. We check the load on every visit and quote a 200-amp panel upgrade or a dedicated EV charger circuit in writing before we touch anything.

We also cover the towns around Mountain Top with the same crew, from Wilkes-Barre and Plymouth to Bear Creek, Kingston, Nanticoke and Luzerne. A written quote costs the same no matter which side of the ridge you're on.

Common Electrical Projects in Mountain Top Homes

A 1985 Mountain Top house usually has sound copper wiring throughout. What runs short is panel capacity, not the wiring itself.

A heat pump, a hot tub and a Level 2 EV charger can each need a dedicated circuit. That means a 100 or 150-amp panel fills up fast once two or three of those show up at once. A 200-amp panel upgrade solves that in one visit, instead of a piecemeal fix every time something new gets added.

We also install dedicated circuits for home workshops and finished basements, and as a certified Generac dealer, we handle backup generator installs for the next big outage. Every quote comes in writing before we start.

Permits, Inspections and Your Utility in Mountain Top

Mountain Top isn't its own incorporated borough. Permits for this area route through the surrounding township instead, under Pennsylvania's Uniform Construction Code, the same rule every municipality in the state follows. Rather than run a full building department, most townships bring in a third-party agency to review plans and inspect finished work. We handle the filing and meet the inspector, so none of that lands on your desk.

PPL Electric Utilities runs the lines through most of this area, with UGI Electric and Claverack Rural Electric Cooperative covering some nearby pockets. A service upgrade needs a coordinated disconnect and reconnect at the meter, especially the kind that comes with a 200-amp panel. We schedule that as part of the job. A downed line or a neighborhood-wide outage is the utility's to fix. Once power reaches your meter, everything past it is ours, any hour you call.

Electrical service

I was really impressed with Don and Engeli and the work they performed for me. We had a discussion on the best way to run the new line for the septic pump and I really appreciated the extra effort they made to keep the esthetic of my home's exterior. They were pleasant and professional and all my fans and lights work great! They were patient and waited until I approved everything. A great team!

Mountain Top Electrical FAQs

Can a 1985 Mountain Top panel handle an EV charger and a heat pump together?

Sometimes, but not always. Copper wiring from that era is almost always fine, and the panel is usually the limiting factor instead. We check the total load your home would draw with both running and quote a 200-amp upgrade in writing if the existing panel can't handle it.

Is there a 24-hour electrician who covers all of Mountain Top?

Yes. We answer calls around the clock, 365 days a year, holidays included. Electricians dispatch from home in fully stocked TEE vans, not from a distant yard. A call here gets a real person, ready to finish the job that visit.

Who do I call when the power goes out in Mountain Top, you or the utility?

Start with your neighbors. If the whole area is dark, that's a utility outage, and PPL, UGI or Claverack handles the repair. If only your house lost power, or just part of it, the trouble is usually on your side of the meter. That call is ours, any hour.

What should a home inspection check in a Mountain Top house from the 1980s?

The panel capacity matters most here, since the wiring itself is rarely the issue. We check the panel brand and amperage against what your household actually draws, then put any recommended upgrade in writing. Our electrical safety inspection covers the whole system, not just the panel.
