The Thomas Edison difference

Oreland Electricians for a Well-Connected Community

Need an Oreland electrician? Thomas Edison Electric's crews are direct employees, never subcontractors, dispatching from their own homes in fully stocked TEE vans. Oreland, ZIP 19075, is a community of 5,953 people in Montgomery County, with Dresher, Flourtown and Wyncote all close by.

Most homes here date to 1953, so fuse boxes, 60-amp services and knob-and-tube remnants still turn up behind the walls. Full insurance and PA license PA075449 back every visit, and the phone is answered nights, weekends and holidays alike, 365 days a year. Dial 215-947-1400 whenever it happens.

One visit, three fixes

Panel, wiring and outlets get addressed together when the job allows it, not spread across separate calls.

1950s fuse boxes retired

An aging fuse box becomes a modern breaker panel sized for central air and a full kitchen.

Knob-and-tube found and replaced

Wiring tucked into old walls and ceilings gets traced and swapped for grounded copper.

Serving the whole cluster

Dresher, Flourtown, Wyncote and the towns around Oreland get the same crew, same day.

PECO meter work included

Any disconnect and reconnect tied to a panel job gets scheduled on our end.

24/7 coverage, no subcontractors

Direct Thomas Edison Electric employees, licensed under PA075449, insured and rated 4.8 stars.

A Well-Connected Corner of the County

Oreland sits at the center of a small cluster of communities. Dresher, Flourtown, Wyncote, Abington and Jenkintown all sit within a few miles, and our crews move between them the same day.

The housing here reflects the early 1950s. Fuse boxes have often outlived their usefulness. A 60-amp service cannot keep up with a modern kitchen and central air running together, and knob-and-tube wiring still turns up in places nobody thinks to check. We handle the panel, the wiring and the outlets together in one visit whenever we can.

PECO Energy Company keeps the lines running. We keep everything past the meter working, any hour you need us.

Common Electrical Projects in Oreland Homes

A full panel and wiring review is the most requested visit. We check the service size, look for knob-and-tube still carrying power, and test outlets for a working ground. Then we lay out what needs attention now versus what can wait.

Often the panel is the limiting factor. A 200-amp upgrade is usually the fix, priced in writing before anything starts. Dedicated circuits for a renovated kitchen or a home office come up often too, once the panel has room to support them.

Permits, Inspections and Your Utility in Oreland

Oreland is not incorporated as its own borough, so its township handles electrical permits under Pennsylvania's Uniform Construction Code, using a third-party agency for plan review and inspection as most townships in the county do. That process is built into your project timeline, not something you need to arrange separately.

PECO Energy Company is the utility across Oreland and its neighbors. A panel or service change requires a scheduled disconnect and reconnect at the meter, which we set up directly with PECO. Outages and downed lines are PECO's to fix; from the meter in, day or night, that work is ours.

Electrical service

I was really impressed with Don and Engeli and the work they performed for me. We had a discussion on the best way to run the new line for the septic pump and I really appreciated the extra effort they made to keep the esthetic of my home's exterior. They were pleasant and professional and all my fans and lights work great! They were patient and waited until I approved everything. A great team!

Oreland Electrical FAQs

Does Oreland's size mean faster service than smaller neighbors?

Not faster, just as fast. Every town on our route, large or small, gets 24/7 coverage from the same electricians, dispatching from home in fully stocked vans.

What should I expect from a 1950s Oreland panel inspection?

Usually a fuse box or an early breaker panel near its limit, some knob-and-tube in the attic, and a few ungrounded outlets. We check all three and quote any fix in writing.

Do you serve the towns around Oreland too?

Yes. Dresher, Flourtown, Wyncote, Abington and Jenkintown all get the same crews and the same response, the same day if the schedule allows it.

Is my Oreland electrician a direct employee?

Always. Thomas Edison Electric does not use subcontractors anywhere. Your electrician dispatches from home in a stocked TEE van and answers calls 24/7, 365 days a year. Call 215-947-1400 any time.
