Pike County is rural and heavily wooded, and Rowland is no exception. Trees take down lines here more than in most places once a storm rolls through, which is why a standby generator with an automatic transfer switch is one of the more common calls we get in this corner of the county. It picks up the well pump, the heat and the refrigerator without anyone having to start it by hand.
Wiring in the area is mostly copper, and the limiting factor is the panel. A 100 to 150-amp panel runs out of headroom fast once a heat pump, hot tub or an extra dedicated circuit for a workshop or well pump joins the load. We size the upgrade to what the house actually needs, not a guess.
Rowland's permits run through the township, under Pennsylvania's Uniform Construction Code, the same as the rest of Pike County. Most townships here use a third-party agency for plan review and inspections rather than staffing their own building department. We take that off your plate: we file the permit, set the inspection date, and are on site when the inspector shows up.
PPL Electric Utilities covers most of the area, with Pike County Light & Power and Penelec serving other pockets of the county. A panel swap or new service means a scheduled disconnect and reconnect at the meter, and we coordinate that with whichever utility is yours. Storm damage to the lines themselves is on the utility. Everything past the meter, day or night, is on us.
