Electrical Service in East Greenville

The typical home here dates to 1958, older than most of the county's housing stock. Knob-and-tube wiring remnants, fuse boxes instead of breakers, 60-amp services and ungrounded outlets are all still common in homes from this era.

A 60-amp fuse box is often the first thing we replace. It can't support central air, a modern kitchen or more than a couple of major appliances running together. We plan the panel upgrade around your actual electrical load, not a generic number.

Common Electrical Projects in East Greenville Homes

A 1958 home here was built for a fraction of today's electrical load. No central air, no home office, no car charging overnight.

  • Fuse box to breaker panel conversion. A 60-amp fuse box becomes a modern 200-amp panel, sized for real use.

  • Knob-and-tube evaluation. We trace what's still active and retire it safely where it's no longer needed.

  • Grounding ungrounded outlets, especially in kitchens, bathrooms and outdoor spaces.

  • New circuits for modern loads, from range and AC outlets to a future EV charger.

Permits, Inspections and Your Utility in East Greenville

It's its own borough, permitting electrical work under Pennsylvania's statewide Uniform Construction Code. Like most of the county, plan review and inspections go through a third-party agency. We pull the permit and schedule the inspection, part of your quote.

PECO Energy Company is the electric utility here. A panel upgrade or new service means a scheduled disconnect and reconnect at the meter, which we coordinate. Downed lines outside are PECO's to repair. From the meter inward, that's our work, any hour.

Electrical service

I was really impressed with Don and Engeli and the work they performed for me. We had a discussion on the best way to run the new line for the septic pump and I really appreciated the extra effort they made to keep the esthetic of my home's exterior. They were pleasant and professional and all my fans and lights work great! They were patient and waited until I approved everything. A great team!

East Greenville Electrical FAQs

Is knob-and-tube wiring still legal in an East Greenville home?

Some of it can remain if it's intact and not overloaded, but it's rarely a good match for modern insurance requirements. We trace what's active and price a plan that fits your home.

Do I need a new panel if my East Greenville home still has fuses?

Most homes with a 60-amp fuse box benefit from an upgrade. Fuses alone aren't dangerous, but the low capacity behind them usually is. We size a panel upgrade to your actual use.

Is there a 24-hour electrician nearby?

Yes. We answer 24/7, 365 days a year, holidays included, and the electrician who responds lives locally. Call 610-782-9000 whenever the issue comes up.

The power is out. Do I call you or PECO?

Check outside first. A whole-street outage is a PECO issue, and PECO makes the repair. If only your home is dark, the problem is likely inside your own system, and that's ours to fix.
