Start with the panel. If it's still a fuse box, or an aging breaker panel, that's the piece most likely to limit you. From there, check for knob-and-tube remnants and ungrounded outlets. A safety inspection covers all three and gives you a written priority list.

Look outside first. If your neighbors are dark too, that's a PPL outage, and PPL restores the lines. If your house alone lost power, or only part of it did, the problem is likely on your side of the meter, in the panel or the wiring. That side is ours, any hour of the day.

Often, once we check it. A Level 2 charger needs its own circuit and spare capacity, and a fuse box or early 100-amp panel usually has neither. We upgrade the service to 200 amps, coordinate the meter side with PPL, and give you a written price for both steps.
